Mapping Dutch Angel Investors: A Survey by Techleap

The role of angel investors is crucial to every startup ecosystem, including the Dutch one. Business angels play an essential role in the early, most risky, phase of a company, providing much-needed capital and expertise. Unfortunately, the share of deals done by Dutch angels during the early stages is significantly lower than in other countries. Moreover, there is less and less financing available in that early stage (VCs shift towards a later stage, you can read more about it in this blog).
Person's hands typing on laptopThat’s why Techleap, an organisation dedicated to empowering Dutch leaders in tech through programs they build, the resources they provide and collaborations they strengthen, is analysing how angel investments can best be stimulated.

They compared the practices with other countries, such as the Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme (‘SEIS’) of the United Kingdom. To ensure the effectiveness of such instruments in the Netherlands, Techleap needs your help to map angels and their investment practices. This is challenging as deals are more made under the radar. Hence, we ask you to complete this short survey and share it with your network to gather as many useful insights as possible. The answers are treated as highly confidential and can be submitted anonymously.

The more responses they get, the better they can propose incentives that will benefit startups, business angels and Dutch innovation. If you have any questions, you can direct them at evelien@techleap.nl / thomas@techleap.nl.

Your help is much appreciated. Thank you for improving the Dutch startup ecosystem.
